"The Grace Of Silence"

A few simple objects on a table and a burning candle. A restrained, classical palette. Behind this apparent simplicity lies a symbolic structure: an old book with a marked page invites unhurried reading; simple fruits may at any moment offer natural sweetness and nourishment; the flame of the candle, as a sign of the right to contemplation, almost suspends time. The language of painting itself โ slow, attentive, built on subtle transitions of light and shadow โ presupposes a mode of perception in which the gaze gradually slows down and the soul enters a state of quiet concentration and peace. The artist experiences this possibility of slow, attentive painting as a personal privilege of silence and chooses to share it with the viewer. At first glance a simple still life, the work opens to the contemporary viewer one of the most precious experiences in an accelerating world โ the right to pause, the privilege of silence.
