Passage of Light

This painting was inspired by the powerful meeting of sea, rock and light. I was fascinated by the moment when the sun breaks through the narrow passage between the cliffs and illuminates the moving water. The dramatic landscape symbolizes the forces of nature and the feeling of freedom that the sea gives us. The expressive brushstrokes and palette knife textures allow the viewer to feel the movement of the waves and the energy of the wind. Through this work I want to convey the power and beauty of nature and the feeling of openness that appears when we look toward the horizon. The waves represent the movement of life, sometimes wild and unpredictable, while the light between the rocks symbolizes hope, direction and new possibilities.
