Kikazaru

One of a series of ( 3 ). A triptych combining mixed media of watercolor and oil. The work gives a modern and poignant interpretation of the ancient Japanese symbol of the "Three Wise Monkeys", representing the moral principle of avoiding evil. The figure wears massive gold headphones that represent the disconnection from the environment and the individual's selective choice to listen only to what suits his inner world, while ignoring the sounds of external reality.
