The work gives a modern and poignant interpretation to the ancient Japanese symbol of the "Three Wise Monkeys", which represent the moral principle of avoiding evil. The golden plaster that blocks the possibility of speech and the figure's gaze is piercing and direct, creating a dramatic tension between the forced silence and the eyes that transmit a strong desire for expression. The peeling texture around the face suggests the revelation of an inner truth that is trying to break out.
