Inheritance

Photograph from a series dedicated to sculptors’ workshops. The image presents a collection of a sculptor’s working tools arranged on the studio floor. Each bears the marks of long-term use and carries its own story. During the development of this project, the artist observed the sculptor sorting through these tools one by one, recalling where they came from and the people who had used them before him. Some belonged to his grandfather, also a sculptor, whose work he remembers from childhood and whose tools remain part of his practice today. The photograph reflects on memory embedded in material objects and on the continuity of artistic craft across generations. The tools appear not only as instruments of labor but also as witnesses to time, preserving personal and family histories. Print and presentation: Laser print.
