About
Zivia Kafri. I was born in 1955, and I am a member of Kibbutz Sarid - a wife mother, and grandmother. My life has been filled with dreams, stories, colors, and the ongoing fulfillment of a deeply personal creative journey. I began my artistic path studying Theater at Tel Aviv University, where I earned my M.A. I later worked as an independent theater director for fifteen years. Those years deepened my connection to human emotion, presence, and the powerful encounter between creator and audience, foundations that continue to shape my artistic voice today. At the age of forty, I founded and managed Aviv Center, an alternative healing center. There, I encountered the many colors of life, pain and sorrow alongside healing, hope, and extraordinary life stories. I accompanied many people on their personal journeys and helped them rediscover light and color within their lives. When I turned sixty, I felt a strong inner need to express myself directly through color. From that moment, painting became a central part of my world, a space for exploration, freedom, and renewal. Guided by curiosity and independence, I experiment with diverse techniques and materials, allowing my creative process to remain open and evolving. The guiding force in my paintings is emotion at the moment it breaks through, emotion that rises and bursts onto the canvas. My color palette is the palette of my life experiences, rich, layered, and deeply expressive, moving between light and shadow, softness and intensity.
