Danny Shorkend

Daniel Shorkend is an Israeli–South African abstract artist based in Haifa. His large-scale mixed-media paintings explore movement, material, and transformation through richly layered surfaces and expressive gestures. Inspired by Abstract Expressionism, philosophy, and the natural world, his work balances structure and spontaneity, creating compositions that feel both elemental and alive. Rather than depicting familiar objects, Shorkend invites viewers into spaces of tension, energy, and quiet contemplation, where form continually emerges and evolves.
