Dasy Ravid

Dasy work from within my internal world and from my therapeutic experience. I make a line, coloured smudge or shape. I look at them from different angles and from within the lines I create a dialogue, a story born from a line, smudge and colour. The paintings are not planned in advance but are created from the canvas, they surprise me and bring me pleasure and a smile. The coloured smudges and lines of my painting are influenced by events, wanderings, dreams and experiences that I encounter when walking through our land and other countries of the world. On these walks I collect items from nature, materials, pieces of paper, maps and newspapers. I stick them on my canvas, add molding paste, colour and line, I look at the canvas and move it around. I repeat this a number of times, each time looking at the canvas and working on it from a different perspective, until I finally absorb from it a shape, an element, a communication or a subject that was created and born out of the canvas. This is the presence that I want to emphasize, to bring out, to add some more details and lines to so as to bring the work to final completion. My creations surprise and excite me, they bring out in me interest, thoughts and curiosity as to what will be born next time.
